Gucci will showcase its Cruise 2027 collection in New York on May 16, marking the first cruise collection under creative director Demna. The venue for the show remains under wraps. This move reflects the brand’s growing focus on the U.S., a key luxury market, with North America projected to grow 4.5% in 2026, according to Altagamma, supported by a rising number of high-net-worth individuals.

“With this upcoming presentation, the house returns to a city that long embodied its spirit of creativity and cultural dialogue, a place where bold vision and modernity continue to meet and inspire,” Gucci said in a statement shared with WWD.

New York holds historical significance for Gucci, as the brand opened its first store outside Italy in 1953, marking the beginning of its global expansion. The city has previously hosted Gucci’s Cruise 2016 show at the Dia Art Foundation in Chelsea, designed by then-creative director Alessandro Michele.

Gucci is not alone in choosing the U.S. for high-profile fashion presentations. Chanel will debut its first Métiers d’Art collection by Matthieu Blazy in New York on December 2, while Louis Vuitton will showcase its Cruise 2027 collection by Nicolas Ghesquière in the same city on May 20. Dior’s first cruise collection by Jonathan Anderson will premiere in Los Angeles on May 13. Earlier this year, Moncler Grenoble held its fall show in Aspen, marking its first American ski destination presentation.

Before Demna’s debut, Gucci staged its Cruise 2026 collection at the brand’s archive in Florence last May 15, a building that has served as a workshop, factory, and showroom since 1953 and now houses the Gucci archive since 2021.

The upcoming Cruise 2027 show under Demna signals Gucci’s continued commitment to innovation, creativity, and expansion in one of the world’s most dynamic fashion markets.
