Yes Network and MSG Networks, through their joint venture Gotham Advanced Media and Entertainment, have announced the launch of a new app, the Gotham Sports App, set to debut this fall. The app will offer live streaming of games from seven major New York area teams, including the New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, Buffalo Sabres, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Yankees.
The Gotham Sports App represents a groundbreaking collaboration between two regional sports networks, combining their streaming services into a single package for the first time. This bundled offering will provide fans with easy access to their favorite local sports content just in time for the NBA and NHL seasons.
The Gotham Package, which includes access to all the featured teams, will be available for $359.99 annually or $41.99 monthly. For fans who only follow certain teams, standalone subscriptions to either MSG+ or the YES App will be available at $29.99 and $24.99 per month, respectively. Customers who already have MSG Networks and YES Network through their pay-tv subscriptions can access the Gotham Sports App at no additional cost.
Andrea Greenberg, President and CEO of MSG Networks, highlighted the convenience of the new app in a press release, stating, “The Gotham Sports App allows fans of our teams one easy access point for New York area sporting events from MSG Networks and the YES Network.”
Notably absent from the app is SportsNet New York, the regional network that airs New York Mets games. SportsNet New York remains available through FuboTV, DirecTV Stream, and online access for cable subscribers.
The regional sports network landscape has been rapidly evolving, with many markets exploring new streaming models. The Gotham Sports App builds on this trend, offering a comprehensive solution for New York sports fans.
